To request that the Chief Administrative Officer cause the Department of Planning and Development Review to conduct a redevelopment study of the properties along Commerce Road and a certain portion of the surrounding area concerning potential opportunities and implementation of plans for the redevelopment of certain properties along Commerce Road in the area bounded generally by Semmes Avenue to the north and Bellemeade Road to the south.

WHEREAS, the Council believes that it is in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Richmond that the Council request that the Chief Administrative Officer cause the Department of Planning and Development Review to conduct a redevelopment study of certain properties along Commerce Road in the area bounded generally by Semmes Avenue to the north and Bellemeade Road to the south;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND:
That the Council requests that the Chief Administrative Officer cause the Department of Planning and Development Review to conduct a redevelopment study of the properties along Commerce Road in the area bounded generally by Semmes Avenue to the north and Bellemeade Road to the south and designated for central business, general business, mixed-use business, heavy industrial, and light industrial principal and accessory uses pursuant to Chapter 30, Article IV of the Code of the City of Richmond (2015), as amended.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
That such redevelopment study shall incorporate the same design elements and considerations that are included in any other redevelopment studies currently conducted by the City for areas of the city of Richmond containing mixed-use development and small business growth.
