WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Council of the City of Richmond, a public necessity exists for the acquisition of the parcels of real property owned by The Conservation Fund, A Nonprofit Corporation and known as 3011 Dock Street and 3021 Dock Street, consisting of approximately 4.33 acres, for the purpose of maintaining such properties as public greenspace in the James River Park System;

THE CITY OF RICHMOND HEREBY ORDAINS:

                     § 1.                     That a public necessity exists for the acquisition of the parcels real property known as 3011 Dock Street and 3021 Dock Street, consisting of approximately 4.33 acres, and identified as Tax Parcel No. E000-0587/004 in the 2023 records of the City Assessor for the purpose of maintaining such properties as public greenspace in the James River Park System.

§ 2.                     That the Chief Administrative Officer, for and on behalf of the City of Richmond, be and is hereby authorized to acquire such parcels of real property from The Conservation Fund, A Nonprofit Corporation for nominal consideration and to execute the deeds and such other documents as may be necessary to complete the acquisition and acceptance of such parcels of real property, provided that the deeds and such other documents must first be approved as to form by the City Attorney or the designee thereof.

§ 3.                     This ordinance shall be in force and effect upon adoption.
