To install one speed table along Seminary Avenue between Overbrook Road and Edgehill Road, specifically located between 2604 Seminary Avenue and 2606 Seminary Avenue. (As Amended) (3rd District)

WHEREAS, Seminary Avenue between Overbrook Road and Edgehill Road is located in a populous residential area of the city; and
WHEREAS, upon information and belief of the Council, area residents have expressed concern about speeding on Seminary Avenue between Overbrook Road and Edgehill Road for an extended period of time; and
WHEREAS, section 2-428 of the Code of the City of Richmond (2020), as amended, requires an appropriate study by the Department of Public Works prior to the adoption of an ordinance regulating motor vehicle traffic within the city; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance has been properly referred to the Department of Public Works
and more than 60 days have elapsed since such referral;
THE CITY OF RICHMOND HEREBY ORDAINS:
§ 1. That one speed table shall be installed along Seminary Avenue between Overbrook Road and Edgehill Road, specifically located between 2604 Seminary Avenue and 2606 Seminary Avenue, by no later than [90 days after the date of the adoption of this ordinance] June 30, 2023.
§ 2. This ordinance shall be in force and effect upon adoption or such other date as may be fixed by traffic order of the Director of Public Works if, prior to adoption, the speed table has been installed along Seminary Avenue between Overbrook Road and Edgehill Road, specifically located between 2604 Seminary Avenue and 2606 Seminary Avenue.
