To consent to the Mayor’s appointment of Stephen M. Willoughby to the position of Coordinator of Emergency Management pursuant to Va. Code § 44-146.19(B)(1) and City Code § 2-376(a).

WHEREAS, section 44-146.19(B)(1) of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, and section 2-376(a) of the Code of the City of Richmond (2020), as amended, requires the Mayor as Director of Emergency Management, to appoint a Coordinator of Emergency Management with the consent of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 44-146.19(B)(1) of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, and section 2-376(a) of the Code of the City of Richmond (2020), as amended, the Mayor has appointed Stephen M. Willoughby as the Coordinator of Emergency Management for the City of Richmond;
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND:
That, as provided for in section 44-146.19(B)(1) of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, and section 2-376(a) of the Code of the City of Richmond (2020), as amended, the Council hereby consents to the Mayor’s appointment of Stephen M. Willoughby to the position of Coordinator of Emergency Management for an indefinite term to begin upon adoption of this resolution.
