THE CITY OF RICHMOND HEREBY ORDAINS:

§ 1.                     That the Chief Administrative Officer is authorized to accept funds in the amount of $500,000.00 from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services for the purpose of providing for youth gun violence prevention programs.

§ 2.                     That Ordinance No. 2021-041, adopted May 24, 2021, which adopted a Special Fund Budget for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2021, and ending June 30, 2022, and made appropriations pursuant thereto, be and is hereby amended by creating a new special fund for the Department of Parks, Recreations, and Community Facilities called the Youth Gun Violence Prevention Program Special Fund for the purpose of funding a youth gun violence prevention program.

§ 3.                     That Ordinance No. 2021-041, adopted May 24, 2021, which adopted a Special Fund Budget for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2021, and ending June 30, 2022, and made appropriations pursuant thereto, be and is hereby amended by increasing revenues from the funds accepted pursuant to section 1 of this ordinance by $143,200.00 and increasing the amount appropriated to the new Department of Parks, Recreations, and Community Facilities’ Youth Gun Violence Prevention Program Special Fund by $143,200.00 for the purpose of funding a youth gun violence prevention program.

§ 4.                     That Ordinance No. 2021-040, which adopted the General Fund Budget for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2021, and ending June 30, 2022, and made appropriations thereto, is hereby amended by increasing estimated revenues from the funds accepted pursuant to section 1 of this ordinance and the amount appropriated by $356,800.00 and appropriating funds in the total amount of $356,400.00 to the following three new line items in the Non-Departmental agency for the purpose of making grants to the following organizations for youth gun violence prevention programs in the following amounts:

(a)                     Challenge Discovery Projects, Inc.                       $100,000.00.

(b)                     Childsavers - Memorial Child Guidance Clinic                       $100,000.00.

(c)                     Communities in Schools of Richmond, Inc.                       $156,800.00.

§ 5.                     This ordinance shall be in force and effect upon adoption.
