Title

To grant to Med-Trans Corporation a permit for the operation of rotary-wing emergency medical services vehicles in the city to provide [non-emergency] emergency aeromedical services, upon certain terms and conditions. (As Amended)

Body

WHEREAS, Med-Trans Corporation has applied for a permit pursuant to section 10-79 of the Code of the City of Richmond (2015), as amended, for the operation of rotary-wing emergency medical services vehicles in the city to provide [non-emergency] emergency aeromedical services within a 100-nautical-mile radius around Chippenham Hospital, located at 7101 Jahnke Road in the city;

NOW, THEREFORE,

THE CITY OF RICHMOND HEREBY ORDAINS:

§ 1.                     That Med-Trans Corporation, hereinafter referred to as the “Authorized Provider,” is hereby granted a permit for the operation of rotary-wing emergency medical services vehicles in the city to provide [non-emergency] emergency aeromedical services pursuant to section 10-79 of the Code of the City of Richmond (2015), as amended, provided that:

(a)                     The permit shall be effective for a period of two years from the date of the adoption of this ordinance as provided in section 10-79 of the Code of the City of Richmond (2015), as amended;

(b)                     The permit shall be conditioned upon the Authorized Provider’s strict compliance with sections 10-78 through 10-83 of the Code of the City of Richmond (2015), as amended; and

(c)                     For purposes of compliance with 12VAC5-31-420:

(1)                     The geographic boundaries of the Authorized Provider’s primary service area within the city include the entire city of Richmond; and

(2)                     The Authorized Provider will assist in mutual aid requests from the local government if emergency medical services personnel, vehicles, equipment, and other resources are available.

§ 2.                     This ordinance shall be in force and effect upon adoption.
