To amend and reordain City Code ?? 8-279 (concerning fees for use of public parks) for the purpose of revising the fees for weddings and to establish fees for rafting in the James River Park Systems, and to amend and reordain the fees set forth in Appendix A of the City Code for sections 8-277 (concerning fees for the use of the Dogwood Dell Amphitheater and Carillon in Byrd Park), 8-278 (concerning fees for the use of City-owned equipment), 8-279 (concerning fees for use of public parks), and 8-284(b) and (c) (concerning meeting fees) of the City Code.

THE CITY OF RICHMOND HEREBY ORDAINS:
? 1. That section 8-279 of the Code of the City of Richmond (2015) be and is hereby amended and reordained as follows:
Sec. 8-279. Fees for use of public parks.
(a) Each person shall, for the privilege of renting the indoor facilities of park houses and recreation centers for private parties, receptions and weddings, be charged a user's fee as set forth in Appendix A to this Code. The user's fee shall be paid into the City treasury to defray the cost of the maintenance of the facility and the cost of utilities.
(b) [Each person shall, for the privilege of renting a portion of a public park for the purpose of conducting a wedding, be charged a user's fee as set forth in Appendix A to this Code. Such use shall be limited to two hours' duration, and the fee charged shall be in lieu of staffing charge, etc. The user's fee shall be paid into the City treasury to defray the cost of the maintenance of the park and the cost of utilities] For rafting within the James River Park Systems, a rafting vendor permit fee and rafting fee shall be imposed as set forth in Appendix A to this Code.
(c) Additional fees shall be imposed as set forth in Appendix A to this Code.
