To erect stop signs on the northwest and southeast corners at the intersection of Juniper Street and 3rd Avenue and to install a curb ramp on the northeast corner at the intersection of Juniper Street and 3rd Avenue.

WHEREAS, the intersection of Juniper Street and 3rd Avenue is located in a populous residential area of the City; and
WHEREAS, it is the consensus of the Council that it would be in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Richmond and especially the citizens who reside near the aforesaid intersection to erect two stop signs and a curb ramp at the said intersection; and
WHEREAS, section 2-428 of the Code of the City of Richmond (2015), as amended, requires an appropriate study by the Department of Public Works prior to the adoption of an ordinance regulating motor vehicle traffic within the City; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance has been properly referred to the Department of Public Works, and more than 60 days have elapsed since such referral;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF RICHMOND HEREBY ORDAINS:
§ 1. That stop signs shall be erected on the northwest and southeast corners at the intersection of Juniper Street and 3rd Avenue and a curb ramp shall be installed on the northeast corner at the intersection of Juniper Street and 3rd Avenue.
§ 2. This ordinance shall be in force and effect upon adoption or such other date as may be fixed by traffic order of the Director of Public Works if, prior to adoption, the two stop signs have been erected and the curb ramp installed at the aforesaid intersection.
