Title
To designate a certain portion of City-owned property located within the Low Line as a garden named the “Dominion Energy Garden at the Low Line Green.”
Body
WHEREAS, the City owns the enclosed areas labelled as “Dominion Energy Gardens at the Low Line Green” as shown on the drawing entitled “Exhibit A: The Dominion Energy Garden at the Low Line Green,” a copy of which is attached to and made a part of this ordinance; and
WHEREAS, section 8-12 of the Code of the City of Richmond (2015), as amended, provides for the designation of the use of City-owned real estate by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Richmond that the City Council officially designate such property as a garden for its protection and preservation;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF RICHMOND HEREBY ORDAINS:
§ 1. That all City-owned property located within the enclosed areas labelled as “Dominion Energy Gardens at the Low Line Green” as shown on the drawing entitled “Exhibit A: The Dominion Energy Garden at the Low Line Green,” a copy of which is attached to and made a part of this ordinance is hereby designated as a garden.
§ 2. That, notwithstanding the provisions of sections 8-7 through 8-10 of the Code of the City of Richmond (2015), as amended, to the contrary, the garden designated pursuant to section 1 of this ordinance shall be named the “Dominion Energy Garden at the Low Line Green.”
§ 3. This ordinance shall be in force and effect upon adoption.
