To consent to the Mayor’s appointment of Kimberly Bridges as a member of the Education Compact Team established by the Mayor.

WHEREAS, paragraph 2(e) of Resolution No. 2017-R050, adopted August 21, 2017, contemplates an advisory “education compact team” that includes, among others, up to six members representing the state government and the business, philanthropic, nonprofit, civic, and academic communities of the city, appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the City Council and the School Board; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has communicated his desire to appoint Kimberly Bridges as a member of the Education Compact Team established by the Mayor by a letter dated November 2, 2018, in accordance with Chapter 2, Article V, Division 2 of the Code of the City of Richmond (2015), as amended;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND:
That the Council hereby consents to the Mayor’s appointment of Kimberly Bridges as a member of the Education Compact Team established by the Mayor by a letter dated November 2, 2018. However, such appointment shall not become effective until the appointee takes the requisite oath of office administered by the City Clerk.
