WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2024-048, adopted February 26, 2024, declared that a public necessity existed for the acquisition of certain parcels of real property commonly known as East End Cemetery, Evergreen Cemetery, and Forest View Cemetery; and.
WHEREAS, subsequent to the adoption of Ordinance No. 2024-048, an additional parcel has been identified as presently or formerly owned by Enrichmond Foundation, which is a part of the real property commonly known as East End Cemetery; and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Council of the City of Richmond, a public necessity exists for the acquisition of an additional parcel of real property presently or formerly owned by Enrichmond Foundation, which, together with the parcel identified in Ordinance No. 2024-048, is commonly known as East End Cemetery, for the purpose of preserving and maintaining such parcel as a historic African-American cemetery and public greenspace.
NOW, THEREFORE,

THE CITY OF RICHMOND HEREBY ORDAINS:
? 1. That a public necessity exists for the acquisition and acceptance of the dedication by gift of the parcel of real property, which is a part of the real property known as East End Cemetery, located along Stony Run Parkway in Henrico, Virginia, and identified in the 2024 records of the Henrico County Finance Department, Real Estate Assessment Division as Parcel ID No. 805-721-7838, such parcel consisting of approximately 0.644 acres, more or less, being more particularly shown as "Parcel 1" on the survey entitled "A Boundary Survey of Two Parcels of Land Totaling 14.869 Acres Lying East of Stony Run Parkway and Separated by Evergreen Road," p...
