RE:                      Terminate the City State of Emergency Declared on January 5, 2025

ORD. OR RES. No.

PURPOSE: To end the local state of emergency declaration issued on January 5, 2025, confirmed by City Council via Res. 2025-R002.

BACKGROUND: Virginia State Code 11-146.21 Declaration of Local Emergency requires that “the governing body, when in its judgement all emergency actions have been taken, shall take appropriate action to end the declared emergency”.

The Coordinator of Emergency Management recommends that the declaration made on January 5, 2025, and confirmed by the City Council via Res. 2025-R002, be terminated because all emergency actions have been taken, and the emergency no longer exists.
