To erect all-way stop signs at the intersections of Cutshaw Avenue and Roseneath Road, Cutshaw Avenue and Tilden Street, Cutshaw Avenue and Cleveland Street, and Cutshaw Avenue and North Belmont Avenue (1st District)

WHEREAS, the intersections of Cutshaw Avenue and Roseneath Road, Cutshaw Avenue and Tilden Street, Cutshaw Avenue and Cleveland Street, and Cutshaw Avenue and North Belmont Avenue are located in a populous residential area of the City; and
WHEREAS, upon information and belief of the Council, residents of this area have expressed a desire for all-way stop signs at the intersections of Cutshaw Avenue and Roseneath Road, Cutshaw Avenue and Tilden Street, Cutshaw Avenue and Cleveland Street, and Cutshaw Avenue and North Belmont Avenue; and
WHEREAS, it is the consensus of the Council that it would be in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Richmond and especially the citizens who reside near the aforesaid intersections to erect all-way stop signs at said intersections; and
WHEREAS, section 2-428(c) of the Code of the City of Richmond (2020), as amended, requires an appropriate study by the Department of Public Works prior to the adoption of an ordinance regulating motor vehicle traffic within the City; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance has been properly referred to the Department of Public Works, and more than 60 days have elapsed since such referral or the Department of Public Works has submitted its report to the City Clerk;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF RICHMOND HEREBY ORDAINS:
§ 1. That all-way stop signs shall be erected at the intersections of Cutshaw Avenue and Roseneath Road, Cutshaw Avenue and Tilden Street, Cutshaw Avenue and Cleveland Street, and Cutshaw Avenue and North Belmont Avenue.
§ 2. This ordinance shall be in force and effect upon adoption or such other date as may be fixed by traffic order of the Director of Public Works if, prior to adoption, the all-way stop signs have been erected at the aforesaid intersections.
