To authorize the Chief Administrative Officer to accept funds in the amount of $165,000.00 from the Commonwealth of Virginia 9-1-1 Services Board; to amend the Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Special Fund Budget by creating a new special fund for the Department of Emergency Communications called the Next Generation 9-1-1 Implementation Special Fund; and to appropriate the grant funds received to the Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Special Fund Budget by increasing estimated revenues and the amount appropriated to the Department of Emergency Communications’ Next Generation 9-1-1 Implementation Special Fund by $165,000.00 for the purpose of funding costs for improvements to the 9-1-1 call handling equipment within the City’s emergency communications network.

THE CITY OF RICHMOND HEREBY ORDAINS:
§ 1. That the Chief Administrative Officer is authorized to accept funds in the amount of $165,000.00 from the Commonwealth of Virginia 9-1-1 Services Board for the purpose of funding costs for improvements to the 9-1-1 call handling equipment within the City’s emergency communications network.
§ 2. That Ordinance No. 2019-042, adopted May 13, 2019, which adopted a Special Fund Budget for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2019, and ending July 1, 2020, and made appropriations pursuant thereto, be and is hereby amended by creating a new special fund for the Department of Emergency Communications called the Next Generation 9-1-1 Implementation Special Fund for the purpose of funding costs for improvements to the 9-1-1 call handling equipment within the City’s emergency communications network.
§ 3. That the funds received are hereby appropriated to the Special Fund Budget for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2019, and ending June 30, 2020, by increasing estimated revenues by $165,000.00, increasing the amount appropriated for expenditures by $165,000.00 and allotting to the Department of Emergency Communications’ Next Generation 9-1-1 Implementation Special Fund the sum of $165,000.00 for the purpose of funding costs for improvements to the 9-1-1 call handling equipment within the City’s emergency communications network.
§ 4. This ordinance shall be in force and effect upon adoption.
