THE CITY OF RICHMOND HEREBY ORDAINS:
§ 1. That the Chief Administrative Officer, for and on behalf of the City of Richmond,
be and is hereby authorized to execute an Agreement between the Virginia Department of Health and the City of Richmond for the purpose of funding public health services provided by the Richmond City Health Department. The Agreement between the Virginia Department of Health and the City of Richmond shall be approved as to form by the City Attorney and shall be substantially in the form of the document attached to this ordinance.
§ 2. This ordinance shall be in force and effect upon adoption.

PURPOSE: To authorize the Chief Administrative Officer to execute a Local Government Agreement between the City of Richmond and the Virginia Department of Health to facilitate the performance of public health services by the Richmond City Health District.
BACKGROUND: This agreement details the services provided by the Richmond City Health District and authorizes the City to provide local matching funds in support of these services. These agreements are extended and/or amended each fiscal year. This request is to execute the agreement for fiscal year 2026.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: N/A
STRATEGIC INITIATIVES AND OTHER GOVERNMENTAL: This agreement is required for every locality in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
FISCAL IMPACT: None. The $4,633,490.00 referenced in this agreement have already been appropriated as part of the adopted FY26 General Fund Budget.
