THE CITY OF RICHMOND HEREBY ORDAINS:

§ 1.                     That the Chief Administrative Officer, for and on behalf of the City of Richmond, is authorized to accept funds in the amount of $4,000,000.00 from the United States Department of Health and Human Services for the purpose of funding the City’s program to advance health literacy and enhance equitable community outcomes in accordance with the United States Department of Health and Human Services’ Advancing Health Literacy to Enhance Equitable Community Responses to COVID-19 initiative.

§ 2.                     That the funds received are hereby appropriated to the General Fund Budget for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2021, and ending June 30, 2022, by increasing estimated revenues by $4,000,000.00 and allotting to the Office of the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Human Services the sum of $4,000,000.00 for the purpose of funding the City’s program to advance health literacy and enhance equitable community outcomes in accordance with the United States Department of Health and Human Services’ Advancing Health Literacy to Enhance Equitable Community Responses to COVID-19 initiative.

§ 3.                     This ordinance shall be in force and effect upon adoption.
